WWE Money within the Bank 2020 takes place on Sunday, May 10 from WWE Headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut aka the Titan Towers.
In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, WWE has had to be ultra creative to stay its product afloat, and therefore the promotion has planned a couple of firsts for the MITB matches on this card.
Here’s how you’ll watch.
Date: Sunday, May 10
Time: WWE MITB Pre-Show at 6pm ET, MITB PPV at 7pm ET
TV: Check your local cable provider
Live Stream: WWE Network
There are obviously several title matches on tap for this year’s MITB card, but the most important draw is that the theme matches that the show is known as. Because the lads and women’s matches will happen simultaneously this year, there’s a even more novelty.
To add another layer, the battle for the briefcases will start on the bottom floor of the Titan Towers with the prizes on the rooftops of the building.
This could open the door to more of the theatrical presentation that was such successful during WrestleMania last month.
On the men’s side, Otis, AJ Styles, Rey Mysterio, Daniel Bryan, Baron Corbin, and Aleister Black will battle for the briefcase during a match that might seemingly be designed for the latter to travel over.
However, consistent with BetOnline, Styles (-125) is that the favorite to win the MITB contract.
Whenever we consider the winner of this match annually, the presentation surrounding the potential cash-in involves mind. Classic cash-ins just like the ones Dolph Ziggler (Raw) and Randy Orton achieved (SummerSlam) in 2013 are memorable examples.
With that in mind, it might seem Black (+200) could have one among the more theatrical cash-ins, and he’s definitely a star who looks to be headed for the highest portion of the most card. That said, Styles has been great as a nasty guy, and heel cash-ins seem to be a touch more special. Perhaps which will play a task within the booking decision.
On the women’s side, Shayna Baszler (-150) is that the favorite over Asuka, Carmella, Nia Jax, Dana Brooke and Lacey Evans. However, Baszler was also the favourite at WrestleMania, and she or he didn’t re-evaluate against Becky Lynch.
Nia Jax (+300) is a stimulating option during this match, although heel Asuka (+600) would be an intriguing longshot because the MITB briefcase winner. She has found new life in her current role, and her stint on commentary added a layer to her persona. it’d not be a horrible idea to offer her a fresh push since WWE about abandoned her singles relevancy several months ago.
The Title Matches
In total, there are four titles on the road at MITB.
WWE Champion Drew McIntyre (-700) may be a huge favorite to retain against Seth Rollins. WWE would be bold–and crazy–to take the title off McIntyre at now. His validation as a main-eventer is simply getting started and he hasn’t had a chance to feel the love from the gang due to the restrictions brought on by the coronavirus.
Braun Strowman will defend his Universal Championship against Bray Wyatt. Who knows how this one will play out? Strowman is that the slight favorite at -130, but it’s possible Wyatt could regain the title he never should have dropped to Goldberg at assets.
That’s why Bray’s odds to win are at -110.
The New Day (+100) will defend the SmackDown Tag-Team titles during a Fatal-Four-Way against The Miz and John Morrison (+125), The Forgotten Sons (+250), and Lucha party (+500).
The odds are close for this one too, but I’m leaning toward The Miz and Morrison to regain their titles. there’s more value in them as champions than elongating another de facto New Day title reign.
Last but not least, Bayley (-500) defends the SmackDown Women’s title against Tamina (+300). Bayley is that the second biggest favorite on the cardboard, and with good reason. Almost nobody expects Tamina to travel over during this match.
Tamina isn’t likely to win the title, but she’s been propped from late as a threat.
However, this program is simply a transition into Bayley’s next real feud. Here may be a check out the entire MITB card.
